A Dental Office That’s Different

Treatment Philosophy
Unlike most dental offices, Dr. Max Lingo provides all of the services himself. Yes, even preventive cleaning appointments. Treating patients himself allows Dr. Lingo to better communicate with his patients and enhances their level of trust.

Attentive and Uninterrupted Care

Because Dr. Lingo provides all services himself, patients are not interrupted or delayed due to overlapping patient visits. They also receive a more thorough examination, as Dr. Lingo pays close attention to every tooth surface during even the simplest treatments. Early intervention allows him to offer preventive measures that avoid or delay more complex needs from occurring. His dedication to comprehensive family and cosmetic dentistry allows him to offer a level of care that you just can’t find at any other dental office.

“I perform all dental services in my office, regardless of whether you are here for a complicated procedure or routine preventive care. In my practice there is no volume, patients are seen on time and my fees are the same for everyone. My patients receive quality and service in a relaxed, professional, friendly atmosphere. We offer concierge dentistry without the fee.” – Dr. Max Lingo

Meet Dr. Max Lingo

Dr Max LingoDr. Lingo is native to Evansville, having graduated from Rex Mundi High School in 1966 and the University of Evansville in 1970. He then went on to study dentistry at Indiana University where he graduated with honors and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1974. His original practice was founded on Diamond Avenue, but due to the road expansion he relocated his practice to Mariner Drive in 2005.

As a dentist, Dr. Lingo has a special touch when it comes to creating aesthetic treatments for his patients. Part of this comes from his background as a dental lab technician while he was in college. His understanding of function, contour and design allow him to provide an extra level of dental care that many other practices do not.

In addition to pursuing a constant flow of continuing education programs, Dr. Lingo is active as a member in the following organizations:

  • International Congress of Oral Implantology
  • Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation
  • American Association of Implant Dentistry
  • American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry
  • American Dental Association (Life Member Status)
  • Indiana Dental Association (Life Member Status)

In his spare time, Dr. Lingo enjoys photographing and feeding the wildlife in his backyard and travelling. He and his wife MaryAnn also have a love for their Schnorkies, Isa and Bella, which accompany them to the office each day!

Dr. Lingo has been bringing comprehensive dental care to the Evansville, Indiana area for over 4 decades. Here, you’re not a number. We are genuinely focused on the quality of patient care, as well as creating a positive experience you’ll always remember.

Meet the Staff

We’re proud to be a true family practice, with members of Dr. Lingo’s own family helping the office run smoothly.

Sam Lingo, MBA
Sam, Dr. Lingo’s son, graduated cum laude from the University of Southern Indiana in 2005, earned an MBA in 2008 from the University of North Florida, and has been a part of our practice since he was 16. As a teenager, he learned to assist with dental tooth charting using the “old school” red and blue pencil method, years before computers were used in dental operatories. Having a strong background in dental assisting, Sam understands the clinical side of dentistry; he has the ability to see and explain treatment in a logical way that is easy for patients to understand. Sam began learning about practice management when he was a teenager and was instrumental in setting up our first computer. Over the years, he has proved himself invaluable as our technology expert. Sam administrates the day to day operations and business of our practice. He has extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and works hard to help our patients maximize their insurance plan benefits. Sam is especially empathetic to patients who have dental fear and request sedation. He understands fear is a road block to optimal dental health and goes above and beyond to ensure our patients’ comfort and care and will forfeit his own lunch time if needed to drive a sedated patient home following a procedure. When not working, Sam enjoys cooking, spoiling his two dogs Jasmine and Georgia, traveling and attending Miami Hurricane football and UK basketball games.
MaryAnn holds an MA in Communication Disorders from St. Louis University and for many years was the first patient telephone contact and the first person to greet patients. Working “behind the scenes” since 2012 when Sam assumed leadership of our team, MaryAnn continues to work closely with Sam to ensure our ongoing commitment to the highest quality patient care and service in our patient-centered, relationship-based practice. As an experienced writer, she has a proven track record for writing winning insurance appeals. MaryAnn’s attention to detail makes her the perfect team member to be our quality assurance and quality control specialist. MaryAnn has a passion for yoga and all the benefits a yoga practice brings, but her greatest love is spending time with family.
Caitlyn, RDA
Caitlyn, originally from Washington, IN, is a 2014 graduate of the USI Dental Assisting Program. Caitlyn first caught our eye during her student rotation in our practice. Unanimously, we agreed she embodied the skills and personality we want on our team and she joined us upon graduation. Caitlyn is a DANB certified assistant as well as certified in coronal polishing, fluoride application and expanded duties. She particularly enjoys assisting with surgical procedures like extractions. Caitlyn has an endearing, upbeat, outgoing personality and always has a smile on her face. In her spare time, Caitlyn enjoys a variety of fitness activities and spending time with her family and friends.

FAQ About Your Dental Care with Max L. Lingo, DDS

Which insurance plans do you accept? Do you offer financing options?

As a courtesy we are able to file insurance claims on our patients’ behalf. Depending on the type of insurance that you carry, the provider may or may not cover all of your dental procedures. We will do our very best to estimate your fees prior to any services being rendered. Our patients also have access to no interest financing through CareCredit and Springstone Patient Financing.

Is it ok to wait for my treatment until the tooth starts hurting?

This is an excellent question! We typically advise patients to have their dental needs addressed when they are smaller and more affordable to treat.

How often do I need X-rays?

X-rays are an important part of your dental care, because they allow us to see areas that are not visible during a routine exam. We use X-rays to check between the teeth as well as bone levels. Most healthy patients have X-rays taken once per year, with a full mouth series every few years. Our minimal radiation digital X-rays make taking radiographs easier and safer than ever before.

Is a “deep cleaning” really necessary?

Battling gum disease is no laughing matter. Aggressive disease can cause loss of bone, gum attachment, and even your teeth. A typical preventive cleaning is not enough when there are areas of deep gum pockets and heavy buildup. Our deep cleaning appointments are designed to eliminate all areas of buildup and help patients reverse the effects of gum disease.

How do I choose a cosmetic treatment that’s best for me?

We offer a variety of cosmetic treatments like dental veneers, composite bonding, white fillings, teeth whitening, and porcelain crowns. Dr. Lingo will work with you directly to find out what aspects of your smile you want to change, and offer different alternatives that he feels best fit those needs.

What should I do if I have a toothache?

Depending on the type of pain you are experiencing, it can help to take two ibuprofen and use warm or cold rinses and compresses, whichever feels better.

Don’t see your question listed? Not a problem! We invite you to call us anytime during our normal business hours and we’ll be happy to help.
